Material Excellence

The Timber Lab

Education is the foundation of quality. At Mockford Range, we don't just build furniture; we curate the science of timber to ensure lifetime durability.

The Kiln-Dried Standard

In the humid, salt-laden atmosphere of the KZN South Coast, wood is a living, breathing material. If timber is not correctly seasoned, it will warp, crack, and fail as it adjusts to the coastal environment.

Kiln-drying is our non-negotiable process. By controlling the moisture content in a kiln, we stabilize the wood cells, ensuring that your furniture remains dimensionally stable for generations. This is the difference between a mass-produced item and a Mockford masterpiece.

The "Zero Melamine" Policy

"No Melamine, Chip Board or Super Wood is used in our workshop."

Why? Because these materials rely on industrial glues and compressed sawdust. In the KZN climate, they are prone to swelling and crumbling. We build with solid timber because it is honorable, repairable, and lasts longer than a lifetime.
