Terms of Workmanship
01. Bespoke & Special-Order Goods
All items manufactured by Mockford Range are classified as "Special-Order Goods" under the South African Consumer Protection Act (CPA). Every piece is handcrafted to unique specifications and individual dimensions for the discerning client.
02. The "Zero Melamine" Guarantee
We maintain a strict workshop policy: No Melamine, Chipboard, or MDF is used in our structural builds. We work exclusively with solid timber, ensuring that every piece carries the integrity of real wood.
03. Deposits & Commencements
To secure raw materials and initiate the "Old School" manufacturing process, a non-refundable deposit (typically 50-60%) is required upon acceptance of the quotation. Production timelines commence only upon receipt of this deposit and final approval of project drawings or specifications.
04. Precision & Lead Times
Precision takes patience. While we provide estimated lead times, these are subject to the complexity of the commission and the drying requirements of specific timber grades. We do not compromise on seasoning or finishing times to meet rushed deadlines.
05. Natural Deviations
Wood is a natural, living material. Inherent variations in grain patterns, knots, color tones, and textures are not considered defects but rather the unique signature of your handcrafted piece. These characteristics are what define solid timber heritage.
06. Ownership & Risk
Ownership over all commissioned items remains with Mockford Range until the final balance has been paid in full. Risk of loss or damage transfers to the client upon delivery or collection at our Bushy Vales workshop.
07. Cancellations
As bespoke items are manufactured to specific client requirements and cannot be easily resold, rights to cancel are restricted once production has commenced. A reasonable cancellation fee will be applicable to cover material costs and craftsman hours already incurred.
